What to do:
What a Visit Can Look Like
Supervised visitation may include age-appropriate activities such as sharing a meal, visiting a park or museum, taking a walk, or spending time together in another appropriate setting.
Throughout the visit, the provider maintains the supervision, professional boundaries, and court-ordered requirements while allowing the parent and child to focus on their time together.
How the Process Works
Contact MLT Resolutions — Confirm availability and discuss the need for professional supervised visitation.
Provide the Court Order — Submit the current court order and any applicable restraining or protective orders.
Complete Intake & Orientation — Provide the required information and meet separately with the provider to review expectations, requirements, and next steps.
Schedule the Visit — Once intake and orientation are complete, the visitation may be scheduled in an appropriate setting consistent with the court order and supervision requirements.
Provider Role & Boundaries
The professional provider is a neutral third party whose role is to monitor the visit, enforce the court order, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries throughout the visitation.
The provider does not take sides, mediate disputes between the parents, or make custody decisions.
Parent-child contact remains within the provider’s sight and hearing as required, and the provider may observe, intervene, pause, or end a visit when necessary to maintain professional boundaries or compliance with the court order.
Professional providers are also mandated reporters and must comply with California requirements concerning suspected child abuse or neglect.
